Slightly amber in colour, with a pretty off-white head, it looks pretty good... On the nose, it takes you into the forest with notes of fir and undergrowth. Imagine taking a walk in the forest after it's rained. Poetry... The first impression on the palate is complexity, right from the first sip. Typically West Coast, there's the crispness of the cereals and a bitterness that's more moderate than expected for the style. The oats round out the beer, so the palate is enveloped in sweetness before the bitterness kicks in, which is very pleasant. A beer you never tire of discovering with each sip.
